About Us

The Papago Archery Association (PAA) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization and a member of the United States Archery Association (USAA). Our club is made up of families and individuals who enjoy the sport of Archery.

We meet and practice every Saturday & Sunday morning (with the exception of special events listed on our events page) and practice is open to PAA club members utilizing club & personal equipment.  PAA club practice times are posted below or on our events page.

The park is open to the public from sunrise until sunset or 7:00 PM, whichever comes first.  All archers & spectators are required to cease shooting at the designated time, pack up and exit the range parking lot. The City of Phoenix, along with PAA, has provided targets & stands for the general public to use. Non members must have their own bow equipment to shoot or are welcome to join the PAA club to utilize the equipment we have.

Hours when equipment for club members is available runs approximately (please check Events page for specific details):

Sunrise to Noon – October through May
6:00am to Noon – June through September

Sunrise to Noon – October through May
6:00am to Noon – June through September

The range is marked in both meters and yards. During practice, the range is run by certified NAA Instructors for safety. Range rules are determined by the instructors based on range conditions.

52″ foam target butts on wood stands are used during Saturday and Sunday practices. The PAA members proudly assist with the maintenance of the range.

There are no park or range fees and club membership is not required for park usage (with your own equipment). Club memberships and donations are encouraged.

The Papago Park Archery Range is located on the Northwest corner of 64th street and McDowell road in Phoenix, AZ. The range is just west of the softball fields.

  1. I am interested in my family joining this club. My son loves this sport and we have been wanting to find a good organization to join.

  2. Is the archery range open to public when the club is not there on Saturday and Sunday?
If it is, what hours is it available to the public?
Is anything there to attach a target to when the club is not there?

    1. Hello Ni – Yes, the range is open to the public every day from sunrise to sunset (or 7PM, whichever comes first). There are several bales available at the range at all times as well at marked distances.

Is there a 20 yard target?
Im training for the NFAA Indoor tourney the following week (Training outdoors for a week will be fine). Thanks.

    1. Hello Gabe,

Yes, the range is open to the public from sunrise to sunset every day. Currently, there are a couple of target stands & some target butts available at the range for the public to use. They are able to be moved to various distances. The white markers on the range indicate meters and the blue markers indicate the yards. November is the perfect time to be shooting outdoors here in AZ. Enjoy your visit and good luck at the tournament.
