Papago 900 – Halloween Shoot

The 900 round tournaments hosted by Papago Archery Association (PAA) are the perfect “first time” outdoor tournament for archers of all ages, especially the youth, and fun shoots for any archer that enjoys a little friendly competition.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST
Archers & spectators are encouraged to participate in the holiday spirit by dressing up in appropriate & ‘safe to shoot in’ costumes or other Halloween themed attire.  Voting & winners will be announced at the end of the tournament.

**Please do not wear anything that will interfere with shooting or hinder other archers at the line. Safety will still be the priority for the shoot.**

Check in & Equipment Inspection: 7:30 am  
(Onsite registration will NOT be accepted)

Official Practice (minimum 2 ends): 8:00 am
First Round will begin after official practice.

REGISTRATION FEE
$35 for Senior & Master Divisions
$30 for all Youth Divisions (Yeoman through Junior)

Limited tables & benches are available on site. Please bring additional chairs and canopies as needed. There will be water provided for archers and a concession stand will be available for drink & snack purchases.

*Parking is provided in the paved parking area adjacent to the range and in the additional parking lot located to the NE. All vehicles must be parked in one of the designated parking areas. No parking is allowed on unpaved surfaces.

FORMAT
900 Round on 122cm target faces* – Archers will shoot three (3) rounds at three (3) different distances. Each round will be 30 arrows (5 ends of 6 arrows).  There will be a break between the middle and short distances.

*Bales with only compound archers (Division Bowman-Master) will use (2) 122 cm five ring center spot target faces. Lanes will be identified when tentative lane assignments are posted.

*Compound Para-VI archer will shoot at 30m on 60/80/122 cm target faces.

Three Distances:
Master, Senior & Junior 60/50/40 Meters
Cadet 50/40/30 Meters
Cub 40/30/20 Meters
Bowman 30/25/20 Meters
Yeoman 20/15/10 Meters

DIVISIONS
Bow Type:
Barebow or Genesis, Recurve Bow, Compound Bow
Age:
“Senior”, (any age)
“Masters 50+”, (Born in or before 1967)
“Masters 60+”, (Born in or before 1957)
“Masters 70+”(Born in or before 1947)
“Junior” through the calendar year of their 20th birthday
“Cadet” through the calendar year of their 17th birthday
“Cub” through the calendar year of their 14th birthday
“Bowman” through the calendar year of their 12th birthday
“Yeoman” through the calendar year of their 9th birthday

*All archers are allowed to shoot up in a higher division if desired.

SUNDAY CLUB PRACTICE – CONTAINER OPEN

The equipment container will be open for practice this Sunday by 6:30 a.m.  All club members are welcome to come to the range and get some practice in for the week. Container will remain open until approximately  noon.

Competitive Team JOAD/AAP will meet on the west side of the range from 7:00 – 9:00 AM for their monthly pin shoot.

SATURDAY CLUB PRACTICE – CONTAINER OPEN

The equipment container will be open for practice this Saturday by 6:30 a.m.  All club members are welcome to come to the range and get some practice in for the week. Container will remain open until approximately noon (based on archers).

JULY PIN SHOOT – Papago will be hosting the monthly pin shoot for ALL club members.

JOAD & AAP (Non-competitive)
Members will meet on the west side of the range for their pin shoot from 8:00 – 10:00 AM.

Olympic Day 2017 at Papago

Olympic Day is a celebration for youth around the world to observe the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect. It is also a celebration of the Olympic Day pillars: move, learn and discover.

In honor of Olympic Day, Papago Archery Association will be hosting a special presentation by two-time Olympian Judi Adams. She will be sharing her experience & expertise about the sport of Archery.  Ms. Adams will speak from 8:00-9:00 AM, followed by a Q&A session.  This event will be hosted at the Papago Archery Range and is open to all club members and the general public.

Papago Archers! Gather Your Arms!

Join the next adventure in the saga of Papago Valley.
After retaking the Castle of Phoenix, months ago, our adventurers have enjoyed the spoils of victory and the kindness of a grateful town. We catch up with our heroes at a local tavern when a new challenge rears its head.

This time you’ll have to brave the darkest depths of THE JAGGED WOODS. We need our bravest adventurers to face foes new and old or many innocent souls may be lost.
Join the rest of Papago’s Warriors, use your friends, your wits and your bow, and together we can WIN THE DAY!

When: Saturday June 17th @ 07:00 – 09:00
Who: Papago Archery Members (All Ages and Skill Levels)
What: A guided game of fantasy and strategy, using your Bow and Arrow as your weapon.
Where: Papago Archery Range

Shooting Format:
10 Ends, 2 Ends Per Encounter 3 Arrows Per End
18 Meters
Target Size: Varies By Encounter (???)
Teams: 10 Teams, 3 Team Members Per Team
(Teams will be selected on the day of the event by the event organizers.)
