 USAA-ARIZONA Indoor JOAD Championship Format: Single FITA I – Indoor 18 meter Tournament (Star FITA)

Recurve Bow and Barebow – One (1) – 600 round from 18 meters; Bowman, Cub class – 60cm target face.  Cadet, Junior class – 40cm target face (choice of single-spot or vertical 3 spot face — must use target choice for entire tournament); outer 10 ring scoring. (Single 600 round = 30 arrows x 2 rounds = 60 arrows)

Compound Bow– One (1) – 600 round from 18 meters; – 40 cm target face (choice of single-spot or vertical 3 spot face — must use choice for entire tournament); All classes will shoot Inner 10 ring scoring. (Single 600 round = 30 arrows x 2 rounds = 60 arrows) (60 Pound draw weight maximum as measured by the Tournament scale)

Target Face – Bowman and Cub Recurve / Barebow can shoot 60cm target face. All other archer classes use a 40cm target face, single or vertical.

MEMBERSHIP – USAA/NAA membership listing Arizona residence is required to compete for the State Championship recognition. If your USAA membership expires prior to the official start date of the tournament, a copy of your USAA membership renewal and payment must accompany your tournament Registration Form. Your application will not be considered complete until your current membership is on file with the USAA. All archers must show USAA membership card at the tournament registration table. Arrow Requirements (World Archery, Book 3):
11.1.7. Arrows of any type may be used provided they comply with the common meaning of the word “arrow” as used in target archery, and do not cause undue damage to target faces or butts.
11.1.7.1. An arrow consists of a shaft with a tip (point), nocks, fletching and, if desired, cresting. The maximum diameter of arrow shafts shall not exceed 9.3mm (arrow wraps shall not be considered as part of this limitation as long they do not extend further than 22cm toward the point of the arrow when measured from the throat – nock hole where the string sits – of the nock to the end of the wrap); the tips (points) for these arrows may have a maximum diameter of 9.4mm. All arrows of every athlete shall be marked with the athlete’s name or initials on the shaft. All arrows used in any end shall be identical and shall carry the same pattern and colour(s) of fletching, nocks and cresting, if any. Tracer nocks (electrically/electronically lighted arrow nocks) are not allowed.

YOUTH DIVISIONS
“Junior” through the calendar year of their 20th birthday (Born in or after 1998)
“Cadet” through the calendar year of their 17th birthday (Born in or after 2001)
“Cub” through the calendar year of their 14th birthday (Born in or after 2004)
“Bowman” through the calendar year of their 12th birthday (Born in or after 2006)

Payment is made at time of registration via Paypal. All Registrations must be paid via Paypal. No registration is complete until payment is made.

Space is limited – priority will be given to Arizona USAA Members. Corner Archery will do their best to accommodate requested shooting times. Shooting times desired may not be available as registration closure gets near.

 REGISTRATION FEES:

• JOAD registration fee: $40.00

• Late – JOAD registration fee ( January 17, 2018 or Later ): $70.00

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: January 24, 2018 at 6pm

Registration is open until the venue is full, which may occur before the registration deadline. NO SAME DAY REGISTRATION *********** Late registration accepted on space available basis *************  USAA AZ residents will be given registration preference
SCHEDULE:

Competitors will compete in One (1) of the below sessions. You must select shooting times when you register. USAA-AZ members will receive session preference.

DAY 1 (Recurve) – Saturday, January 27, 2018

AM Shooting (600 Round)
Check-in and equipment inspection 7:45 AM
Official Practice 8:30 AM (Scoring to follow immediately after)
Scoring Begins 1st – 30 arrows
Break Approximately 10 minutes
Scoring 2nd – 30 arrows

PM Shooting (600 Round)
Check-in and equipment inspection 12:15 PM
Official Practice 1:15 PM (Scoring to follow immediately after)
Scoring Begins 1st – 30 arrows
Break Approximately 10 minutes
Scoring 2nd – 30 arrows

Recurve Awards will be presented about 1 hour after the Saturday PM Session completion.

 DAY 2 (Compound)– Sunday, January 28, 2018

AM Shooting (600 Round)
Check-in and equipment inspection 7:45 AM

The equipment container will be open for practice this Saturday by 7:00 a.m.  All club members are welcome to come to the range and get some practice in for the week. Container will remain open until approximately 10:30-11:00 am (based on archers).

JOAD & AAP (Non-competitive)
Members will meet on the west side of the range for their class from 8:00 – 10:00 AM.

SATURDAY CLUB PRACTICE – CONTAINER OPEN

The equipment container will be open for practice this Saturday by 7:00 a.m.  All club members are welcome to come to the range and get some practice in for the week. Container will remain open until approximately 10:30-11:00 am (based on archers).

**BARE BOW CREW SHOOT – Rock, Paper, Scissors will begin at 9am.

December Pin Shoot (Indoor)

Come out and shoot to earn your next pin!

The December monthly pin shoot will be held during regular club practice. This shoot is open to ALL Papago club members (with current memberships).  This club level shoot allows archers an opportunity to experience a mock round of a tournament.

ONLY Indoor distances  will be shot during this pin shoot. Please arrive early enough to get equipment set up, warmed up and ready to begin official practice by 8:30AM.  **There will not be any make up arrows for late arrivals.

FORMAT
30 arrow round (3 arrows per end, 10 ends)
2 minute ends.
We will run an AB/CD line if necessary.
Whistle commands & timer will be used.

ADULTS / AAP
Barebow, Recurve & Compound shoot at an 18 meter distance with a 40cm target face. Compound archers use the inner 10 scoring.

AAP Indoor Matrix

YOUTH / JOAD
Barebow, Recurve & Compound shoot at either 9 or 18 meter distances depending on pin being earned. Target faces are either 40 or 60 cm for Recurve and Barebow. Compound archers use a 40cm target face and use inner 10 scoring for blue pin and above.

JOAD Indoor Matrix

NO pre-registration is required.
Those interested in receiving pin awards will turn in their score sheet at the end of the round.

SATURDAY CLUB PRACTICE – CONTAINER OPEN

The equipment container will be open for practice this Saturday by 7:00 a.m.  All club members are welcome to come to the range and get some practice in for the week. Container will remain open until approximately 10:30-11:00 am (based on archers).

DECEMBER PIN SHOOT – We will be holding our club wide monthly pin shoot this day. Official practice will begin at 8:30AM.

JOAD & AAP (Non-competitive)
Members will meet on the west side of the range for their class from 8:00 – 10:00 AM.

 

SUNDAY CLUB PRACTICE – CONTAINER OPEN

The equipment container will be open for practice this Sunday by 6:30 a.m.  All club members are welcome to come to the range and get some practice in for the week. Container will remain open until approximately  10:00-10:30 am.

Competitive Team JOAD/AAP will meet on the west side of the range from 7:00 – 9:00 AM for their weekly class.

*Session 5 of the Beginners Archery Course will be hosted on the east side of the range from 8-9:30am.

BEGINNERS ARCHERY COURSE – Class 1 of Session 4 will be held on the east side of the range from 8-9:30 AM.
